This is a first for me, I am still working on the new website, it is not yet live and will not be for a while and I’m talking to you through a blog post. How does that work then?!*
So why the new website again!? A good and fair question ..
A long time friend of mine who is a web designer has an old saying on his website, which is:
measure twice and cut once
Which of course means; One should double-check one’s measurements for accuracy before cutting a piece of wood; otherwise it may be necessary to cut again, wasting time and material.
In plain English, the last two photography websites for Tim Hill Photography were rushed with little thought about taking things into the future and if the website had room to grow with my photography (I am honest if nothing else) ..
The website I am working on now looks very simple (no bad thing) but has far more room to mutate and grow over time and I hope complements my photography. Time and comments will tell!
At last I now realise, these things take time. One example – I have just finished adding images in all the galleries. Individually using Photoshop, each image had to be resized and crunched to below 200 kb, while preserving as much image quality as I could manage. Mobile phones hate bulky slow loading images and so does Google. I could go on but I’ll not bore you 😉
Thank you for dropping by. This website is going nowhere soon I promise!!
